I came in with 50+ games and 3 consoles that I was selling and the staff there were so helpful and patient. They even called me after I had dropped the stuff off when one of the consoles had a problem in testing to see what I wanted to do with it. They also directed me to another shop to sell some of my equipment that they couldn’t take. Overall, excellent customer service and great selection of games and tech

Saw an iPod Classic in-store and was told to place an online click & collect so that I can return it if I am not happy with it, so I did just that.

Collected and took home, to realise there is water damage to the screen, battery gets really hot and that the charge port was bent inside, so just as advised, I took it back for a refund.

3-4 days later I hear nothing back so I contact customer services who request 24-48 hours to reply back. Anyway, fast forward a week, I get an e-mail to say that the iPod was returned in worse condition than it was sold in, which was definetly not the case, I just pointed out things that they didn't see.

What most likely happened was that in the week they were holding the device, they damaged it and tried to pass the blame onto me as I mentioned (in-conversation) to the employee at the time of collection, that I was hopefully planning to open the device to modify it. (Which I didn't do as the screen was cracked and water damaged and would have cost even more to replace).

They refused a refund and so I had to contact my bank to issue a charge back, only then, did they accept the refund.

This is probably just sneaky company policy rather than a store-specific issue, however it is a computer exchange so this is expected.

For anyone using CeX, take plenty of geo-tagged photos of the device you buy AT the store & try photograph the employee that served you.
Also take photos of the device when you take back etc.

Scummy business practices.

It's ok. You can get some good stuff like old DDR3 memory cheap. But they do have a habit of not checking what they are selling and making customers overpay for items. Even with a 2 day return window I think this is just laziness and somewhat illegal as well as just plain irresponsible. But the staff are understanding and friendly. So it's about as average as you would expect overall. I guess it just depends on your own opinion and point of view.

Good selection of stuff, store was clean and a fair(ish) price for the sale of goods.

Onto the negative: I was doing some belated spring cleaning of gadgets, I gave a load of stuff to charity but thought I'd get a beer token or two for the newer console that had been figuratively (and literally) gathering dust. Anywho, when I went to sell said-console the person who served me was rude, contemptuous and sarcastic. I don't expect the red carpet to be rolled out when I'm selling tat but equally I don't expect to be treated like I'm being inducted into HMP Strangeways.

I wondered if I'd done something to offend them but then observed them being equally horrid & mean to fellow patrons and even the other people working there. FYI Cex person: you're not big and you're not clever... (well, actually you *are* big... but that's beside the point). I have worked in retail (many years ago before uni) and I know you encounter some "interesting" people but that's no excuse to treat everyone like garbage. Be better. Next time everything goes to charity.

One person in there complained and said he couldn't take a TV monitor because of a single drop of water on top of the monitor no where near any of the internals or screen yet they'll take a scratched up 3ds and a switch that is missing both its joycon covers not happy with the service there.

I went into the store on Thursday as I wanted to sell a pair of earbuds the guy checked them for me and said I need to take them away and clean them as there testers have to put them in their ear which is understandable so went away and cleaned them and I came back today after cleaning them the lady checked them for me and gave me a price then she went to ask one of the other guy to see how long will it take for the testing the man happens to be the same one who asked me to clean them after a few minutes of discussion the lady came back and said we can’t take the earbuds as their is a serial number on them but for some reason it’s been wiped away their wasn’t any serial number in the first place on it because when the guy checked it on Thursday there wasn’t one on it they just didn’t want to buy them off me he was very arrogant will never go back to this store.

I loved the customer service provided!
It was quite detailed and to the point!
However, many of the questions we asked about the product they sale, one of the staff members said he doesn't know.. Well it was a little bit surprising as we asked about a product in their store.. He could have excused himself and maybe got us someone who might be able to give us the information.. Because obviously we are spending money for the particular product..

It was overall a nice experience! Staff was friendly and pretty honest!
